Has it ever happened to you that you changed your windows login password and then forget it? No matter what you try after that but its a dead-end for you. With the help of few simple steps, you will be able to unlock your computer after you forget the password.

How to unlock a computer with Password

Here are few simple steps to unlock a computer with password in windows operating systems:
1. Restart your PC.
2. Press F8 just after your PC boots. Keep pressing it till you get a list of options. Select “Safe Mode With Networking” from the list of options. (In some computers you might need to press other Function buttons instead of F8).
3. You can now login to windows without any password. So you should login to Administrator account or any other account that is set as your administrator account.
4. Press Windows Key + R to open the run window. Here put the command “control userpasswords2″ and press enter.



5. You will be prompted with user accounts window. In the users tab uncheck the option saying users must enter a user name and password to use this computer. And thats it. You have unlocked your computer. You won’t be prompted for any password after your restart your PC.






Other Alternative to Unlock your windows computer

If this won’t solve the problem after rebooting then you need to enter in “Safe mode with networking” again. Now you have to go to the user accounts by clicking on the start menu. Write “user accounts” to go to user accounts or by going to control panel and finding user accounts. Over there find the account you want to unlock by clicking on manage other accounts. Thereafter simply select your account and click on remove the password.

I have Boot CD or Other Operating systems

There are certain boot cd’s that lets you edit your hard drive through command prompt or a GUI (graphical user interface). Well even they can help your unlock your windows or recover the password to windows through some means.
You may also be able to enter your locked windows if you have another operating systems like Ubuntu etc.
